New Executive Committee of All Maharashtra Mountaineering Federation Unopposed

Pune: The 34th Annual General Meeting of All Maharashtra Mountaineering Federation, the leading state-level organization in the mountaineering sports sector in the state, was recently held at Dilne, Tal Mulshi, District Pune. The meeting was attended by the office bearers of the federation as well as representatives of various mountaineering organizations.

Important discussions were held in the meeting for the overall development of the mountaineering sector in the state. Various activities were planned to increase the spread of mountaineering as an adventure sport. In this, it was unanimously decided to celebrate December 11 as International Mountain Day across the state. Various activities will be implemented on this occasion. Also, an awareness campaign will be launched regarding the 12 forts declared as World Heritage Sites of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and a state-level competition called “Build a Fort” will also be organized, informed the president of the federation.

During this meeting, the new executive committee of the federation was elected unopposed for the term 2025-26 to 2027-28. The new executive committee was announced as follows. It includes President Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award winner and veteran mountaineer Umesh Zirpe (Pune), Working President Hrishikesh Yadav (Mumbai), Vice Presidents Prakash Walvekar (Mumbai) and Deepak More (Pune), Working President Dr. Rahul Warange (MAHD), Co-President Rahul Meshram (Mulund), Treasurer Deepali Bhosale (Mumbai) and Co-Treasurer Rajesh Nene (Ratnagiri).

Along with this, Sunil Gaikwad of Shivdurg, Lonavala Sanstha was appointed as the Chief Coordinator of the 24 X 7 Rescue Helpline in the Sahyadris, which is being implemented through the federation. The election was held in a very cordial atmosphere as all the office bearers were elected unanimously and unopposed.
