Honoured as ‘Best District’ by MCA for the Third Consecutive Year
Solapur : In a remarkable achievement, the Solapur District Cricket Association has created history by being adjudged the ‘Best District Cricket Association’ for the third consecutive year by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). The honour was conferred during MCA’s Annual General Meeting, marking Solapur as the first district ever in Maharashtra to accomplish this rare feat.
The recognition comes as a result of Solapur’s exemplary planning, efficient conduct of various cricket tournaments, outstanding hosting capabilities, systematic ground management, innovative initiatives, and continuous efforts toward nurturing young talent over the past three years. This year, Solapur received special appreciation for securing the Indira Gandhi Stadium agreement and successfully hosting senior, U-19 and U-23 boys and girls practice matches of MCA.
MCA President MLA Rohit Dada Pawar, while lauding Solapur’s efforts, said, “Solapur District Cricket Association has set a benchmark in player development, infrastructure, and administration. It has become an inspiring model for other districts across Maharashtra.”
On this occasion, Kolhapur MP Chhatrapati Raje Sambhaji felicitated the office-bearers with a bouquet of flowers.
The AGM was attended by MCA Secretary Kamlesh Pisaal, Apex Council Member Santosh Bobde, CAC Chairman Sachin Mule, Treasurer Sanjay Bajaj, Shubhendra Bhandarkar, Keshav Waze, Atul Gaikwad, Vinayak Dravid, Sunil Mutha, Suhas Patwardhan, Sushil Shewale, Raju Kane, Ajay Deshmukh, Neeta Kadam Kapre and several dignitaries.
This landmark achievement is seen as a reinforcement of Solapur District Cricket Association’s credibility, stature, and leadership across the state. The association has expressed its commitment to further strengthening initiatives in quality tournaments, turf wickets, coaching, women’s cricket, and rural cricket development in the coming years.
