Pune: Radhya Malhotra, a student of Victorious Chess Academy, has made her mark by winning the Punjab State Girls Chess Championship under 17.

She secured the first position with 4.5 out of 6 points. What makes this victory even more special is that she competed against players much older than her – some up to six years her senior – and still managed to come out on top.

Her calm mindset, sharp focus and smart gameplay helped her defeat strong opponents, including FIDE-rated players. The feat sets a new record, as she becomes the youngest player to win the title.

Radhya’s success is the result of consistent training at VCE, along with the support of her coach Kapil Lohana and her parents. It is a proud moment for her family and a strong start to an exciting chess journey.
