Historic Achievement by Komal Waghmare of SNDT Women’s University : Mission Olympic

Wins Bronze Medal in 10m Rifle Shooting at the Tokyo Deaflympics

Mumbai: Komal Waghmare, a talented student of SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai, has created history by winning the bronze medal in the 10m Rifle Shooting – Individual Event at the Tokyo Deaflympics held in Japan. Her remarkable performance has brought immense pride not only to the university but also to the entire nation.

India has secured four medals in individual events at the Deaflympics, and Komal’s bronze has added to this glorious tally. Her discipline, determination, and relentless hard work have led to this outstanding achievement.

Komal’s success is the result of dedicated training under her coach, Suma Sirur, a distinguished Dronacharya Awardee, whose expert guidance played a significant role in shaping her performance. In this journey of Mission Olympic the University has Equally instrumental in shaping Sanskrit’s. Under the leadership of Hon Vice Chancellor Professor Ujwala Chakradev the whole hearted support was provided by Dr. Kavita Kholgade, Director of Sports and Physical Education, SNDT Women’s University and Prof. Nilesh Thakre HOD of Department of Psychology. University’s efforts to strengthen women’s sports, introduce new initiatives, and provide continuous encouragement to athletes and coaches have greatly contributed to Komal’s journey.
